  • NiProWriMo 8/30: In Sheep’s Clothing

I have an odd love of deer; I may have mentioned this before. I feel a kinship with deer that is unlike my affection for any other animal. I love dogs, for instance, but do not have a similar bond with or to them.

On the other end of the spectrum, I loathe centipedes in a way that is hard for me to explain. I’ve never had a traumatizing experience with one, but I cannot cannot cannot abide them.

    I don’t think I’m unusual in this kind of attraction/repulsion to animals/wildlife.

For this exercise, list a few of each: animals/wildlife you are attracted to/have a kinship with and animals/wildlife you are repelled by.

Write a piece in which you wear the skin of one or both of the creatures.

Some things you might ask yourself as you write:How did you come to wear the skin? Do you like it? What happens when you put it on? How do you feel inside of it? Does any part of you still show? How do other react? Can you take it off? Who is now repelled/attracted to you?
