  • 12/30: Riding Shotgun OR Who You Bringing With You?

A few questions before we start:

Where do you travel to the most often? How do you get there?

What was your most memorable trip? Thinking traveling, not destination.

When was the last time you were on a plane? A boat? A train?

We all are our own theaters of tragedy. We live through public (9/11, Katrina, Sandy, Flint) and private* losses. Think for a moment about the people you have lost. Think about the people you did not know that are lost, too.

Because the world is absurd and beautiful and because my grandfather drove a taxi for years, I want you to read {this}. It’s short and totally safe for work.

Let’s reimagine those occasion of travel (or imagine new ones). What ghosts are riding shotgun with you?

A few questions to stir up the ideas? What conversations might you have with them? (How) would you know that they were a ghost? Why would they be with you? Where would you take them?  What do they look like? What are they wearing? Do you know them? Is there a common loss between you? How often do they ride with you?

*You don’t need me to list your private losses and I won’t list mine.
